RTBU-PacNat Member's Union Collective Agreement 2006 Update Newsflash! 6524 August 2006Business Division Negotiation Update:
As reported in previous Newsflashes, the RTBU has agreed to commence negotiations with seven Business Divisions. We can now report that those negotiations have commenced. On Monday and Tuesday this week Pacific National management representatives of the Northern Coal Business Division and representatives of the RTBU met to negotiate the collective agreement for Northern Coal. Discussions were very productive and the parties will continue to work through the drafting process. Members would be aware, through previous editions of your Newsflash that it was previously agreed between the parties that a combined Pacific National / RTBU Delegates meeting would take place at the end of September to discuss the progress of all Business Unit Collective Agreement negotiations. At this meeting a decision would be made as to the next step in the process. If there are any issues preventing agreement to any or all of the seven agreements, the Pacific National C.E.O and Senior RTBU Officials will attend the 30th September meeting in an attempt to address the outstanding issues. Meetings have been confirmed for other Business Division negotiations as detailed below:
Members in all Business Divisions will be advised of the outcomes of all negotiation meetings as they are known. The RTBU remains committed to the processes agreed at the delegate's conference held in Sydney in July 2006 in which both parties agreed that all Agreements would be reviewed when the delegates reconvene in Sydney around 30 September 2006. Further Information: Members will continue to be kept informed of any significant developments through future editions of your Newsflashes. For further information on issues regarding the Union Collective Agreement negotiations please contact your local RTBU delegate, your respective RTBU State Branch or the National Office. If you would like to receive future UCA Newsflashes to your personal home email please email Greg Harvey at gharvey@rtbu-nat.asn.au with your name, your location, your classification and your email address and you will be added to the email list.
