RTBU National Secretary Meets with New PN CEO

Bob Hayden has today (May 19) met with incoming CEO of Pacific National Mr Don Telford at PN North Sydney for an informal discussion on the way forward for PN and more importantly our members.

Obviously no major decisions were taken by either party, but we can report both men did agree it is in the best interests of all parties to finalise a long term union collective agreement/s as soon as possible. A plan to make this a reality will be determined in the next three weeks. Mr Telford has stated he will need the next two weeks to internally consult and then reconvene with the RTBU in the week commencing 5th June, 2006.

In a positive and new (for PN) development both agreed to open and transparent direct relationship between each and we certainly look forward to this new standard of professionalism.

Be in no doubt that it was conveyed how serious we are about achieving certainty, safety and opportunity in the workplace.

We have held a telephone conference of National Delegates this morning and will convene another as soon as new information is available. If there are pressing issues you need conveyed, contact your local delegate to raise when next on line.
