The Deputy Industrial Registrar has made arrangements with the Australian Electoral Commission for me to conduct an election for the following offices:

Nominations, which must be in writing and comply with the organisation's registered rules, may be made at any time from 9:00am on 8 October 2004. They must reach my office or postal address not later than 5.00pm on 29 October 2004.

It is a basic requirement of nomination for any office in the Union that candidates be financial on the date nominations open. Intending candidates should consult the Union's rules for other eligibility requirements.

Nominations may be withdrawn up to, but not later than 5:00pm on Monday 8 November 2004.

Nomination forms are available from me or the registered office of the organisation. The use of these forms is not compulsory provided that nominations comply with the rules.

Ballot: If a ballot is necessary, voting material will be posted on 22 November 2004 to eligible members at the address shown in the organisation's records. Members should notify the organisation of any changes of address.

The ballot will close at 5:00pm on Monday 13 December 2004.

An attendance ballot will be held on 8 and / or 9 December 2004 for all offices exclusive to the Tram and Bus Division only. Ballot papers for all other offices will be sent to Tram and Bus Division members by post.

NOTE: A copy of the AEC's election report can be obtained from the organisation or from me after the completion of the election.
