Grain business Division Update (formerly Rural Division)

RTBU Representatives from Grain depots met with Pacific National management in Parkes from Tuesday 29th August, to Friday 1st September 2006, to negotiate the Pacific National Union Collective Agreement. The negotiations were held in good faith with both parties having the same aim of attempting to achieve an outcome. An 'In Principle' Agreement has been reached with the document and it will now be reviewed by both party's lawyers, in readiness for the outcome of other negotiations and the September 30 deadline.

Some good outcomes were achieved on the following clauses.

  • Career Paths & Classification
  • Hours of Work
  • Leave
  • Home Base and Sign On / Sign Off provision
  • Temporary Transfer
  • Roster Changes
  • Shift Limits
  • Interval between shifts.
  • Barracks Workings / Resting Away.
  • Lift Up / Lay Back
  • Mentor Driver
  • Medical Assessments

Industrial Business Division Update (Formerly Bulk Division)

RTBU Representatives from Industrial depots met with Pacific National management in Newcastle from Monday 4th September to Wednesday 6th September 2006, to negotiate the Pacific National Industrial Union Collective Agreement. The negotiations were held in good faith with both parties having the same aim of attempting to achieve an outcome. An In Principle Agreement has been reached with the majority of the document, with further work needed to be done on Shift Lengths, Support & Admin descriptors and Undertime prior to being reviewed by both parties lawyers, in readiness for the outcome of other negotiations and the September 30 deadline.

Some good outcomes were achieved on the following clauses:
