What is the process from here?

There are now a number of administrative tasks which need to be completed so that the Agreement can be certified in the Australian Industrial Relations Commission. It is expected that certification will take place during the third week of February, and back pay and lump sum payments will be payable on the next pay period following certification.

Training

The RTBU intends to run a number of training courses during the life of the Agreement for Delegates and Activists. The training will be aimed at helping those Delegates and Activists understand, interpret and negotiate their way through what is undoubtedly the most complex Enterprise Agreement in the rail industry.

There are a number of clauses in the Agreement that are different to anything either former FreightCorp or former National Rail Corporation members have been used to. It is important that the RTBU provide the Delegates and Activists with the tools necessary to understand those clauses, and to ensure management remains within the confines of the Agreement.

Further details on the training mentioned above will be made available to members in the near future.
