PacNat EBA RTBU News Flash No. 3603 February 2004In this Edition of your RTBU Newsflash - EBA Voting Process Complete - Results of EBA Vote by Location - Where to From Here? - Delegate / Activist EBA Training
Pacific National Enterprise Agreement 2004 Voting Process Completed. The Pacific National Enterprise Agreement voting tour has now been completed. Set out below is a table of the results of the vote by location for your information. The RTBU Negotiating Team will meet on Monday 9th February to discuss any issues arising from the meetings of the past three weeks. This meeting will be followed by a meeting with Pacific National on Tuesday 10th February, the purpose of which could be best described as 'mopping up'. The RTBU Negotiating Team extends their deepest thanks to Members and in particular, Delegates who have assisted with their contributions and support during the negotiations and voting meetings.
What is the process from here? There are now a number of administrative tasks which need to be completed so that the Agreement can be certified in the Australian Industrial Relations Commission. It is expected that certification will take place during the third week of February, and back pay and lump sum payments will be payable on the next pay period following certification. TrainingThe RTBU intends to run a number of training courses during the life of the Agreement for Delegates and Activists. The training will be aimed at helping those Delegates and Activists understand, interpret and negotiate their way through what is undoubtedly the most complex Enterprise Agreement in the rail industry. There are a number of clauses in the Agreement that are different to anything either former FreightCorp or former National Rail Corporation members have been used to. It is important that the RTBU provide the Delegates and Activists with the tools necessary to understand those clauses, and to ensure management remains within the confines of the Agreement. Further details on the training mentioned above will be made available to members in the near future.
