Trains of Treasure IndexTrains of Treasure is a brilliant social history of Australia's railways, in songs, poems and images from the workers - and the convicts before them. The project is ongoing.Trains of Treasure ExhibitionTrains of Treasure is a musical and poetry history of Australian Railways that was prepared by the Combined Railways Unions Cultural Committee in 1985 with the support of the State Rail Authority of NSW and the Australia Council for the Arts. CD: Trains of Treasure31 Songs and Poems from the Trains of Treasure Exhibition, including the title song, Trains of Treasure, by Denis Kevans. CD: Railway VoicesRailway Voices is a CD with 29 tracks, using parts of the songs and poems from the Trains of Treasure exhibition panels to link interviews with rail union activists from the post-war generation. We are looking for railway songs, poems and storiesThe Australian Railway Historical Society, the Bush Music Club, the Rail Tram and Bus Union and the Australian Bush Poets Association want to publish a book of Australian Railway songs, poems and stories, to coincide with the expected opening of the Alice Springs - Darwin Railway Line in late 2003. |
